Saint Lamech Christian Church (SLCC), is a Section 21, registered Non-Profit Organization (NPO), registration No.
The purpose and aim of the NPO is to facilitate the church’s secondary function, which are social welfare, educational assistance and promotion of healthy living through various sporting codes. Lastly, the church through its members and community at large, has created a space for a community youth choir to address those who are not for sports.
It is our wish as a church to receive adequate funding to ensure these objectives are met. The church is always looking for Good Samaritans to donate cash and in kind, so that the community of Mmakau social needs and needs are significantly addressed.
Our Social Welfare Team is on the ground, identifying families in genuine distress. We don’t just give handouts; we visit, we assess, and we provide targeted help:
Food parcels for the hungry.
Warm blankets for the cold.
School uniforms for needy children.
We also stand for justice. As members of a network that assists victims of unresolved police cases, we offer support and advocacy to those who feel failed by the system. In South Africa, justice should be for all.
Our Education Team tackles learning challenges head-on:
Reading Promotion: Cultivating a love for reading in primary school kids.
Homework & Tutoring: We connect matric and university students with volunteer tutors from our church, especially for tough subjects like Maths and Science.
Open to all in the community. Watch our notices for free tutoring sessions!
We want to move our youth from street corners to sporting fields. Our Sports Team is passionate about introducing exciting, less common sports to Mmakau:
We aim to train in: Cycling (BMX & Off-Road), Skateboarding, Roller Skating, Chess, Table Tennis, Darts, and Target Shooting.
The Goal: Provide positive alternatives to drugs, gangsterism, and idleness. We dream of building facilities and creating future champions and professionals. We need partners, funders, and coaches!
Music heals and unites. We have proudly adopted the local “Holy Messengers” choir from Ga-Rankuwa. Our dream is to go further:
The SLCC Brass Band Project: We are looking for a Good Samaritan to donate brass band instruments. We want to start our own youth brass band, offering another creative outlet to keep young people engaged, skilled, and inspired.
Whether you need help, want to volunteer, or can contribute resources, your place is here with us.
I Need AssistanceI want to HelpSt. Lamech Christian Church is a home for the seeking soul. Based in the heart of Mmakau, we are a vibrant community where Christian worship meets a deep, respectful understanding of ancestral spiritual presence.
We believe that faith is not a one-size-fits-all journey. It’s a tapestry woven with threads of divine grace, personal purpose, and the unseen energies that guide us. Here, you can talk openly about the Spirit of God and the spirits of our ancestors in the same conversation—not as conflicting ideas, but as parts of a universal spiritual language that seeks to guide us toward our destiny.
