About Us

St. Lamech Christian Church.

We believe that faith is not a one-size-fits-all journey. It’s a tapestry woven with threads of divine grace, personal purpose, and the unseen energies that guide us. Here, you can talk openly about the Spirit of God and the spirits of our ancestors in the same conversation—not as conflicting ideas, but as parts of a universal spiritual language that seeks to guide us toward our destiny.

The Three Crosses: A Symbol of Sacrifice and Connection

Our logo shows the three crosses of Calvary. The central cross represents Jesus Christ, whose sacrifice offers salvation and grace to all. The two crosses beside Him remind us that even in His final moments, Christ was connected to humanity—one soul turning to Him, and one turning away. For us, this imagery speaks of choice, redemption, and the profound truth that our spiritual journey is never made in isolation. It symbolises the bridge Christ built between heaven and earth, and by extension, the connection between the physical and spiritual realms we navigate every day.

Our Mission: To foster a Christ-centred community that honours spiritual connections, empowers individuals to find their God-given destiny, and serves Mmakau with uncompromising love and practical action.

Our Three Pillars

Anchored in the teachings and sacrifice of Jesus.

Our faith begins and ends with Jesus Christ. The three crosses in our logo are a constant reminder of His sacrifice at Calvary—a love so profound it offers redemption and new life to all. We are not just a community that respects tradition; we are disciples committed to a living relationship with Christ. This means we anchor our lives in His teachings: loving God with all our heart, loving our neighbors as ourselves, and finding grace and purpose through His example. Every Sunday service, every prayer, and every decision we make seeks to be rooted in this foundational, transformative love. He is our cornerstone, our mediator, and our ultimate guide.

Respectfully acknowledging the spiritual guidance and energy of those who walked before us.

We believe our spiritual journey is deeply connected to those who paved the way before us. Honoring our ancestors is a biblical practice of remembrance and respect (Leviticus 19:32). For us, it means recognizing that the spiritual energy, wisdom, and legacy of our forebears are still present and can guide us toward our God-given purpose. We do not worship them—worship belongs to God alone. Instead, we listen for their guidance in our hearts, learn from their stories of faith and resilience, and acknowledge their role in our spiritual family tree. This connection is a source of strength, identity, and moral direction, helping us navigate life with the wisdom of the past as we walk faithfully in the present.

Actively building a better Mmakau and beyond through practical love.

Faith without action is empty. Our love for God and our respect for our heritage must be lived out in tangible love for our community. Through our NPO, we roll up our sleeves and serve Mmakau in practical ways: feeding the hungry, supporting students, creating safe spaces for youth through sports and music, and standing up for justice. We believe that building a better community is a sacred duty. Every food parcel, every tutoring session, every sports clinic, and every choir practice is an act of worship—a way of making God’s love visible and tangible right here in our neighborhoods. We are called to be the hands and feet of Christ, transforming faith into action and hope into reality.

We pray TO God alone, through Jesus Christ. We may pray in remembrance of our ancestors, or ask God to help us live in a way that honors the good legacy they left. But we do not pray to our ancestors. Christ is our only mediator.
